In his works, Michael Sven Meier analyses identity within social, political, and economic implications. Socially evolved structures of subjectivity and sexual representation are often the starting point of his video installations, performances and photographic works. Medial forms of identity, body and sexuality are intertwined to sensitive, sometimes absurd compositions that play with dramaturgic expectations, affiliated institutional clichés and aesthetic credentials. Artistic production, in the end, always correlates to our past, present and future endeavors of modeling and decommissioning subjectivity.
